That being said, it’s time to ensure that your furnace is ready to ensure your comfort for the chilly months ahead. Remember to do this a few weeks before winter sets in.

Check your carbon monoxide detectors, ensure they have fresh batteries. While you are at it, check your fire alarms too.
Before turning on your heating unit make sure that the output is free of debris, obstruction, and animal nests.
Now it is time to turn on the furnace. Set your thermostat a few degrees higher than the current temperature to initiate the furnace activation. Check your vents for heat output and air movement.
